SOSFTC Party – Vive Le Club
Over 150 SOSFTC supporters and friends celebrated our progress and showed that they believe that we will save the Club. Dick Gould told SOSFTC supporters that Stanford and the entire tennis community backs our efforts. Vive Le Club! Party-goers had lots of food (cuisine tres francaise), drink, and dancing. Live entertainment included songs specially written to rally the SOSFTC spirit, sung by that new, enthusiastic chorus – the SOSFTC singers.

Residential development is stopped for now
Our attorney, Sue Hestor, provided us with more heartening news as she described the impact of the 2660 Harrison decision. As a result of her research and testimony at the Board of Supervisors, market-rate residential construction is stopped at our site as well as many others. Read more about this at:

Save the Date! – Do not miss out on another SOSFTC Event
September 30! Bring your game face for the first SOSFTC Open. This will be an all-city tennis tournament featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles in A, B, and C categories. The tournament will be at the Golden Gate Park courts. Later that evening, we will have a party themed around the U.S. Open.

Financial – Keep up the momentum
The Vive Le Club Party helped raise more money. We appreciated the contributions of food, wine, and raffle prizes. We continue to need funds for our operations and attorney fees. You may send contributions to SOSFTC, P.O. Box 59155, SF, CA 94159-1555 or make donations online at http://sosftc.com/donations.php

SOSFTC strategic objectives are being met
SOSFTC is focused on 1) stopping residential development on our site; and 2) getting qualified investors who will maintain our values of diversity and community service. We are on target:

1) Stopping residential development on our site.
SOSFTC is building political alliances. We have a positive response from the Supervisors we have met with. The Western SoMa Citizens Planning Task Force is establishing the planning guidelines and seeking input to create quality of life in our area.

2) Getting qualified investors
SOSFTC has identified several potential investors who are qualified buyers. They have a commitment to keeping the Club.

Club Corp itself is up for sale
On May 12, Club Corp announced that it was putting itself on the block. Goldman Sachs is in the initial stages of pricing and packaging the company for sale. We are not certain what the impact of this new twist will be.
